Word Lists
The SuperSpell word lists 1-138 are designed to develop
spelling strategies based on grapho-phonic, visual and morphemic
information. Word lists 1-78 are structured to develop a knowledge
of grapho-phonic spelling patterns. Word lists 79-138 are based
on prefixes, suffixes, compound words and homophones, and are structured
to develop spelling skills based on a knowledge of word meanings.
Word lists 139-143 contain one hundred commonly misspelt words often
referred to as 'spelling demons'.

Word lists 144-160 contain three hundred and forty
high frequency sight words. These words account for 70-80 per cent
of the most frequently spoken and written words in everyday usage
of the English language. It is very important that all beginner
writers learn to spell these high frequency sight words. It will
give them a tremendous boost in confidence knowing that they can
spell three out of every four words they use in their writing.
