Grammar is a method of describing how language works. A sound knowledge
of English grammar helps a student to communicate more confidently
both orally and in written text. As well, a good understanding of
English grammar greatly assists in the study of foreign languages.
The teaching of grammar is sometimes seen as old-fashioned and
for that reason has been avoided by many teachers. Teaching grammar
lessons in isolation with material that has little relevance to
the students' language experiences has added to this perception.
The SuperSpell "Grammar" programs have been designed
as a fun and interactive way of teaching English grammar. Each activity
has been designed to ensure student success and at the same time
teaching or consolidating an aspect of English grammar. Within each
activity there is sound and graphical reinforcement as well as a
reward game to motivate each student.
The SuperSpell
"Grammar" CD ROM programs each contain 192 activities
and 320 worksheets; with extensive teaching notes. Areas covered
in each program include: nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs,
articles, conjunctions, prepositions, punctuation and sentence structure.
Each activity has a spoken instruction and explanation.
